Ok, i know this is an old video, i wanted to say this:while i can see the development time like this in a bad timeline, the problem is that five months would had to be cut to be eight months of development time, so in the case of this version, it's ten months. still a cool video though, David!

I always wonder why this is removed and remplaced with basically anything on things like custom builds/cheat codes, and etc, like, Games remplace it in Akaneia, Debug Mode from Melee remplace it in Slippi, A custom debug mode also remplace it in 20xx, etc. I don't know why there's not a new button/just add the new mode like they did it with the Online Mode button in Slippi in all of these things lol

In Melee, due to Shadow only appearing in one game at the time (SA2), His moveset would be like Sonic’s with two exceptions:Side Special would become Chaos Spear and Up Special would become Chaos Control, so of course, while in the blessed timeline that’s not the case, it makes more sense canonically and moveset wise till later games.

One thing I'd like to say about this concept is that I do think that there would've been time to introduce one more character to the roster. Considering you mentioned how Nintendo was approaching third parties at the time and after seeing the concept roster, I'm shocked that you didn't add Leon as part of the playable cast. After all, Capcom was one of the major developers (at the time) who were planning on making exclusive titles for the Gamecube, so Nintendo would've likely had him added as a promotion for the upcoming Resident Evil titles, especially Resident Evil 4. Overall a cool concept, but I do think that in this ideal universe, Leon would've definitely been a pick to promote more third party content.

I would've gone with "Future Release" for Lucas, since that's what they did for other stuff like Animal Crossing at the time for games that hadn't been out yet.

I think this roster kind of fumbles it with only third parties as DLC. There’s no way Nintendo isn’t getting some of their own characters in the DLC. Aegis, Byleth, and characters who didn’t get in our timeline such as another Animal Crossing character besides Isabelle, and Paper Mario likely get in. I can’t really call it a blessed timeline at this point.

Also if melee got a extra 2 months I could strongly see blazakin from Pokémon making a appearance. As the first episode with it aired in September 2002 for Japan and it was used to hype up ruby and sapphire I could see it being ether a playable character or some sorta Easter egg maybe in a pokeball
